Undang-undang No 15/1992 tentang Penerbangan Pasal 34

1. Pemerintah melakukan penelitian mengenai penyebab setiap kecelakaan pesawat udara
yang terjadi di wilayah Republik Indonesia.
2. Setiap orang dilarang merusak atau menghilangkan bukti-bukti, mengubah letak
pesawat udara, mengambil bagian pesawat udara atau barang lainnya yang tersisa akibat
dari kecelakaan pesawat udara sebelum dilakukan penelitian terhadap penyebab
kecelakaan tersebut.
3. Ketentuan mengenai penelitian sebagaimana dimaksud dalam Ayat (1) diatur lebih
lanjut dengan Peraturan Pemerintah.

REPORTING OF ACCIDENTS AND OVERDUE AIRCRAFT
39.1. Notification Requirements
39.1.1. When notification is to be given: in the case of an accident. immediate notification
(without delay) is to be given on any aircraft accident according to the definition in 39.0.2
in the case of an incident. Notification is to be given (within 24 hours) on any aircraft
incident happening to all aircraft Indonesian registry wherever the occur
39.1.2. Responsibility for giving Notification: The pilot or pilots. If the pilots are incapacitated, the operator shall be responsible for giving such notification.

INVESTIGATION OF ACCIDENTS
In the event of an accident to an aircraft of a contracting State occurring in the territory of
another contracting State, and involving death or serious injury, or indicating serious
technical defect in the aircraft or air navigation facilities, the State in which the accident
occurs will institute an inquiry into the circumstances of the accident, in accordance, so far
as its laws permit, with the procedure which may be recommended by the International
Civil Aviation Organization.
The State in which the aircraft is registered shall be given the opportunity to appoint
observers to be present at the inquiry and the State holding the inquiry shall communicate
the report and findings in the matter to that State.
